Wakatobi Flathead Crocodilefish eye
Arguably the most beautiful eye on the reef, these fish can be four feet long. A prized find for Photographers, these ambush predators hold perfectly still if you are gentle in your approach. The branching "eyelid" floats over the eye, but is also covered in membrane. These fish will be as colorful as whatever they lie on- in the sand they are monochrome almost, but on soft corals and plants they color up beautifully.
